HEALTHBY provides support for the design, construction, and commissioning of new facilities for patient care and education. We work closely with architectural teams, engineering design teams, and equipment vendors to minimize risk and increase quality as clinical and academic program plans are translated into physical infrastructure.
In an ideal project, our work begins long before construction. We play an active role in the pre-planning stages, advising on strategy and helping to develop the clinical and educational program plans. Through the planning process, we help practitioners analyze how they deliver care or education in their existing environments and explore new models to increase their effectiveness.
On projects focused on developing new hospitals or redesigning existing clinical services, we draw on clinicians and faculty working in top hospitals at the leading edge of advances in care.
Similarly, when working on the development of new educational facilities, we apply the latest thinking on how to create student-centered learning environments.

How we can help
- Assess any existing facilities and evaluate suitability to support envisioned clinical and educational programs
- Develop room-by-room space programs for clinical and educational programs based on clinical and academic plans
- Assist in engaging a local and/or international architectural and engineering design team
- Review and comment on design documents and help ensure that clinical and educational goals are reflected in the design
- Help define the Information Technology plan for the institution
- Review and comment on final equipment plans
- Advise on equipment procurement and installation, including budgeting and vendor selection
- Review construction periodically for conformance with institutional goals and quality standards
- Assist in developing a commissioning plan
